Rigoberto Gonzalez

RIGOBERTO GONZÁLEZ is the author of thirteen books, most recently the essay collection Red-Inked Retablos and the poetry book Unpeopled Eden.  The recipient of Guggenheim and NEA fellowships, The Poetry Center Book Award, the American Book Award, the Shelley Memorial Award from the Poetry Society of America, and various international artist residencies, including stays in Spain, Brazil, Costa Rica, Scotland, and Switzerland, he is contributing editor for Poets and Writers Magazine and a contributing writer for the Los Angeles Review of Books. He is also on the Board of Directors of the National Book Critics Circle, and is associate professor of English at Rutgers University—Newark.
