Liz Garton Scanlon (she/her) is a poet, picture book writer and middle grade author from Austin, Texas. She’s served on the VCFA WCYA faculty since 2016 and is a current Faculty Co-Chair for the program.

Liz has been writing and publishing for young people for more than 20 years. Her books include the bestselling Caldecott-honored All the World, the middle grade novels The Great Good Summer and Lolo’s Light, many other beloved picture books, and poetry in several anthologies. Her work has received numerous starred reviews, has regularly appeared on “best of” lists and as Junior Library Guild and Book-of-Month selections, and has been translated into more than a dozen languages.
