Running Press published Kate Hosford’s A Songbird Dreams of Singing: Poems About Sleeping Animals in November 2019, with illustrations by Jennifer Potter. This nonfiction poetry collection about wildlife includes explanations of the fascinating science behind animal sleep habits, and it just might be the first-ever poetry book about this subject.

From the cover description: “Did you know that otters sleep while holding hands, zebra finches rehearse their songs while dreaming, and worker ants take over 250 naps per day?”

This is the second book of poetry Hosford has released since her graduation from VCFA, along with five picture books. Learn more at Hosford’s website.
